Had good lunch - high hopes for early Friday night dinner before busy. Dissapointing - ridiculous patterned plates prevent you seeing the food properly - white please, cold bread, staff going through the motions discussing personal lifes whilst sat down in the entrance. Biggest let down the bouillabaisse which I've eaten in Marseille - flour dipped shrimp and scallops?? overcooked fish - sauce made from the fish soup. Owners notably absent.
Classic French bistro fare is now closer to my home. This could be dangerous. Wish it did "non-stop service" like Luc's in Ridgefield (I'd like a Croque Monsieur for dinner), and the space's tall, popcorn-tiled ceiling, multi-level "L" shaped footprint, and oddball "bathroom in the hallway" defy the owner's valiant attempts to cozy it up. Still, the food was great, the staff was friendly, and we'll be back.
Shortly before we discovered Cafe Lola we'd been in Paris and Provence for our honeymoon and this place really brought it all back for us. We love it and have been back often.
fun and eclectic, with tasty food. get the muscles!
A cozy atmosphere with so-so French bistro fare. You do feel like you are in Paris with the seating, though, so make sure you keep your secrets to yourself!
