Decent Italian food, in a pleasant if crowded space served by efficient wait staff

Unsurpassed, friendly to all Italian where an owner may sit down with you (if he can find a seat). Everything recommended: figs, artichokes, mussels, crab cakes, tricolor salad with gorgonzola, freshwater bass, grilled chicken. Very reasonable. Lines exaggerated. Recently went Friday at 7 and only waited for a comfortable table to be added near the bar and kitchen entry.

Very satisfying meal: quality Italian food, nicely prepared, ample portions. Service was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. One of the owners stopped by the table a couple of times through the evening to make sure that all was satisfactory. Staff had obvious spirit and good morale; I like to see that in a restaurant. Casual atmosphere, but also suitable for a date, too. Definitely will visit again.
