Very friendly Huntington Village community pub/restaurant. Been going there since I was a child in the 70's(in my 40's now). Bars and restaurants come and go in Huntington but Canterbury Ales is still going strong with a loyal local following. Large selection of draft beers and an even larger selection of bottled beers. I try to order from their daily food specials and have never been disappointed. Great comfort food too!
Canterbury Ales is designed to look like a "real" British pub. They serve decent food and the Sheppard's Pie is my favorite. They have lots of beer on tap and a nice selection of domestic and imported specialty brews.
I ate here recently with a group of friends. The food is just OK not great. I had the fish and chips, it really didn't have much flavor, but I kind of expected that. I figured that the malt vinegar (which I love) would jazz it up and that was a big reason I ordered fish and chips. Well I guess they were running low on malt vinegar because it was very watered down. If I go again I'll just get a burger. They do have a nice selection of beer.
Better than average local pub. Excellent burgers.
Warm and inviting Enlish Pub atmosphere with friendly, attentive service and a very large selection of imported, bottle beer and more limited selection of my favorite draughts. The food is a combination of pub type fare (sandwiches, burgers, wings, etc.) combined with traditional Enlish dishes all of which are consistently very good. Definitely worth a visit.
