  • Capt Benny's seems to be one of the few places still serving fresh oysters on the halfshell after the oil spill. I hear they are hard to come by now but thank GOD my favorite seafood joint still has them. I also heard they are going to be bringing in east coast oysters too! Cant wait to try those out! Honestly though you cant beat the quality and price of Capt Bennys. Always fresh and tasty with a welcoming staff. keep up the good work

  • My summer has gotten off to a great start in Austin, Texas because Captain Benny's has an awesome patio, delicious seafood and $3/LB CRAWFISH! Honestly the best crawfish I have ever had for the price and they taste even better with those famous micheladas. But I can't leave without ordering up a dozen oysters because again... best in town and a fair price compared to other spots with mediocre atmosphere and low-energy waitstaff. love this place.

  • Always have awesome experiences at the Capt. Benny's: particularly the Austin location and on the Gulf Fwy in Houston- perfect and freshly shucked oysters, tasty and flavorful boiled shrimp and stuffed catfish to die for. Seafood rice has a full flavor and and the hush puppies (I'm a connoisseur) are the best! and lest I forget the Micheladas! Served spicy with cocktail and hot sauce... goes great with the crawfish piroque... unique & delicious!

  • Ate at the Gulf Freeway location this past weekend and was very impressed. Gumbo was great and you can't go wrong with any of the specials they run. My wife got the Mates plate and it was excellent too.

  • I have been to all locations in Houston but visited the Austin location for the 1st time last weekend and I will definitely be back! The weather was great so i sat on the patio under a tiki hut with my buddies. We had micheladas, gumbo and oysters to start off which were all amazing. Yes it's true, the best Gumbo anywhere! For dinner I got the weekly special and man what a deal. I know where I'm eating next time i'm in Austin
