Food is excellent, good quality and always served fresh.
The place is charming but the reviews are right re how cramped it can feel. The appetizers were fabulous and we thought we'd found a keeper, but only two of the four main dishes we ordered were up to that standard. The orange beef was nearly inedible -- large slabs of beef slathered with cloyingly sweet glop -- rather than the thin-sliced crispy carmelized version available in NYC and DC.
The food is great. The service is overwhelming as it is a very small restaurant and the waiters seem to hover. Take out is great.
Pleasant service and consistently good food
I had take out from Char Koon 3 times this past summer. The food was not good, especially a couple of the noodle dishes which got tossed instead of eaten. The food was bland, greasy and heavy. Never again.
