I have had hundreds of dishes here. The menu is eclectic and interesting, the ingredients top-quality, the meal superb and the presentation is winsome. The service is on-the-spot and the very hands-on chef is approachable and eager to help me find what I want and to exceed my expectations.
As a traveling business man I have the opportunity to dine at the best places worldwide but Charivari makes me wish I lived in Houston!
And the food was amazing. We had a Pumpkin Lobster Bisque as an appetizer, it was the best ever. We Lamb Chops (marinated then grilled) with a mild Spanish sauce and roasted herb potatoes. Filet Mignon grilled exactly the way my wife ordered it; marinated with cognac and very mild green pepper sauce and roasted Potatoes. I had a Chief recommended a very light pan fried White Fish with an almond garlic butter sauce and steamed potatoes.
One of the reasons we like zagat is it helps me find great restaurants like this. Great food and service. We will return with friends. Worth the drive in from the burbs. Loved the Mediteranean seafood for 2.
Service was bad until the owner fired the idiot waiter. The food was good but doesn't warrant a 29 score
My wife and I dined at Charivari last night and the food and service were both outstanding! We both started with the wild mushroom-porcini cappuccino. We loved it. I had the wild boar stuffed with dates and it was the best I have had. I finished with the cranberry souffle and it was done perfectly. We also enjoyed a nice visit with Johann. All in all the best dining experience I have had in Houston recently. I can't wait to go back.
