Great locale and care was put into the decor, but the food was only so-so. We were a party of 10, so I got a good look at a lot of entrees. Nothing was stellar and a couple of plates were less than I would have expected. The veal meatball was badly undercooked, the calamari appeared to have been frozen, and the pasta was overdone in several. I also would have liked better bread, and been served it sooner. Just OK.
The service here was friendly and the atmophere is warm and inviting with the brick ovens and New York pizzeria vibe. However, the food was underwhelming for the price and the location. We had a couple of pizzas and appetizers including the veal meatball and caprese salad, as well as a couple bottles of wine. I think I expected more based on the hype; I didn't find Chazz to be as trendy as many other restaurants in Harbor East.
good food (not "great" food) and excellent service. Varied menu, with some true Bronx-style favorites mixed in with more trendy offerings.
I went with a decent sized group (8) and we had an excellent time. The waitress was very nice, very helpful, and just had a great attitude. The food was delicious and the atomosphere was great. Also, when I called to make the reservation the gentleman that took it was pleasant and helpful.
Very, very disappointing in spite of the great reviews. Will not return.
