great evertime i go
Enjoyed dinner at Chops with business friends; seafood tower and stone crabs were very good- service so so - was amazed by how small the restaurant was (the Boca site is three times larger.) Crowd was very high end.
This has become one of my top three steak restaurants. Rib eye is not quite as thick as my favorite, but seasoning and cooking temp are spot on. No salt shaker required. Fresh lump crab appetizer is wonderful, if pure crabmeat is what you crave. Skip the fried lobster tail and have it broiled instead. (I'm sorry guys, but it's just not as light and tempura-like as it once was at Pano's and Paul's in the old days.)
I had an average dinner at Chops in November and went back in again in December with the hope that the previous meal was a one time event. I was wrong, average again. The second time I sent my food back.
Also the waiters are tired but the other service very good. Love the room but food is not done well.
Will probably not go here again. The service was so rushed, we were actually embarrassed...did we smell or something?? Our orders were messed up twice! Our server was so rushed he couldn't keep up; felt sorry for him. Very overpriced food to have such bad service.
