good place to grab a cocktail, prefer to sit at the bar, should have free bar snacks though(nuts or something)

ONe of the very best hotel bars in the city. Dark, private, sexy, and the drinks are out of this world. Go at Christmas when the Lenox Hotel is decorated for the holidays.

Skip the food and go for the champagne. Unless you're looking for a scene, of the messy pick-up kind, avoid weekends and head in for champagne by the bottle with friends. Nothing fancy, the deals are in the everyday PJ or VC. More than retail but not much and feel like you're living it up. Be prepared to order a few and avoid the cocktails.
