  • Coast is our go to for seafood when in Charleston for business or vacation. It has a nice casual atmosphere and good bar area with a vibrant but not overwhelming level of energy. Appetizers, fresh seafood ceviche and raw bar sampler are great. The seafood can get lost in some of the heavily flavored, though still tasty, main dishes. We are seafood purists so generally opt for the fire grilled selections seasoned to choice.

    This Place Was Amazing!! We were headed to Hyman's when a local suggested us going to Coast, if we wanted great food and fresh seafood. Who doesn't want that eh? So, we did. Boy o Boy we are mouths shooting with fireworks inside from the goodness of the food and appetizers, and Mojitos!! Besides us not making reservations, we sat at the bar which was just where we wanted to be! The energy and vibe is so inviting! We marked this a Fav!!!

    We put this on our list on the basis of seeing other reviews and were extremely disappointed. The service was borderline neglectful -- we waited a long time to place our orders; server neglected to note in her description of the special that it contained ham -- and the food, when it arrived, was over-salted and just generally overwrought -- an otherwise nice piece of fish weighed down and overpowered by salt, pork, and potatoes.

  • My favorite seafood restaurant in Charleston hands down. I've lived here for a couple years and went there with a coworker who raved about it. I now take all out of town visitors there, and haven't had a complaint yet. Great mussels, and good wine selection. The best bang for your buck when it comes to seafood downtown.

    ALL seafood (we went with a client who didn’t realize I had an allergy). Believe it or not they ordered out from their sister restaurant….not that is service! Everybody at our table raved about the seafood but please know there is no typical chicken or steak on the menu….go for the seafood!
