This once legendary eatery has been living on its reputation for years. A decade ago they offered calamari and other seafood dishes that were simply out of this world at extremely reasonable prices. Over the years, the restaurant has remained tiny and cramped, and the lines very long. Two things have changed, the prices have soared through the roof, while the quality has fallen through the floorboards. Try Neptune Oyster instead for GREAT FOOD
food still good although they ran out of red sauce which is pretty bad for an italian restaurant. Decor is less than -0-.
Was not impressed with the selection or quality.
One of my favorite holes in the wall in the North End. I always opt for the fried calamari and the squid ink pasta.
The Daily Catch knows calamari. The fried calamari is simply marvelous. It's crisp and tender. Also of note...their squid ink pasta is beyond yummy. If you order an entree size, it comes served to you in the pan they used to cook it in.
