Had not eaten here for a couple of years, so had some trepidation when I heard they had a new executive chef. Needn't hav e worried! the food was exceptional and the presentation exhibits David Burke's whimsical nature. the amuse bouche was a steak tartar push pop! The cheesecake lollypop tree is still the coolest dessert I have ever seen and totally delicious. Made for a great birthday feast. The wine list is not for the faint of pocket.
Must have Sunday Brunch Buffet
great sunday brunch, by far the best in the area. dinners r also very good. decor is that old style, service is above average. this was david burkes first restaurant. its a good one, even for the price. i go there from time to time. nice menu.
I gave this place a good review after our experience at last Christmas day brunch. We returned for Mother's day, however, and found the consistency in both food and service sorely lacking. We found them breaking down the buffet only 20 minutes after our scheduled 4 pm reservation. Waitress was inattentive and a bit snooty, and for the price, the hurried ambience was not appreciated. In a word: disappointed.
A lot to like here. Good energy and decor. all 6 of us really enjoyed the meal. I don't see how the entire experience can be topped in the area but have only been to 2 or 3 other places near there. NYC quality all around without the drive. Would highly recommend.
