What sets the East Side Restaurant completely apart from others are the smiling faces of the customers, the music and the laughter. We really enjoy our time there. Its a warm, fun place. The food there is outstanding and in particular I like the prime rib there. http://www.eastsiderestaurant.com/images/banq.jpg The East Side puts a smile on my face and in my mind.
Let me tell u the real scoop, I just left the East Side Restaurant. 4 of us eating cost $210 including 20% tip. The Schnitzel is chicken, huge disappointed! We had 3 different toppings, very little flavor! The spaetzel, mediocre. The knockwurst, bratwurst and another meat, delicious. The potato pancakes, very good. The bier garten is loud and spanks (very hard) birthday people. The staff is costumed and serves beer with a twist, entertaining.
If you're looking for some authentic German food, this is not it. Very German-heritage oriented, loud partying on weekends. Food is mediocre, few options for vegetarians (not even salad!). Food that is served is entirely generic Bavarian cusine, heavy on red meat and carbs. Decent selection of beers. Manager claims to be native German but is not. (my Husband is a native German and can see through this charade easily)
Fun drinking place, good eating place. They sing a funny song mocking you if you order a small beer, so don't.
If you enjoy German food and beer this is the place to be!!! The authentic german schnitzel and large 1 liter beers you will feel like you are in Germany. Arrive with a appetite your going to need it with the multi- course dinners !!!They include a german salad, entree, and desert. Ticki Taki Ticki Taki Hoy Hoy Hoy!!!
