Seriously? "Mixed greens" salad was one tired leaf of green leaf lettuce, with one tired leaf of red leaf lettuce, and half-rancid peanuts. My "mahi-mahi" [?] was if lucky a tiny corner of fish which should have been fed to the cat, squirted with rancid oil, and then burnt with a torch in an attempt to give it some "color." The resulting taste of rancid and burnt oil left me like a yellow dog trying to scrape peanut butter off his tongue!
I ate at ecco located at the international terminal at Hartzfield Airport in Atlanta. Located on second floor, it is a beautiful small restaurant and the food is delicious. I sat on the balcony overlooking the airport floor very quiet and pleasant. I ordered their Butternut soup, which was superb and one of the best salads I have ever had, a warm romaine salad with a pepper vinaigrette dressing and blacken walnuts sprinkled with Parmesan. Yum!
Went on a busy friday without rez, was seated within 15 minutes. Ecco is an attractive spot with attractive patrons. Food was very tasty and well presented. Service was friendly and professional. Overall a great last minute choice.
I can see why some people would like Ecco and their food but I thought it was overhyped and the menu was pretty weak. The fried goat cheese balls were phenomenal but the rest of the meal was just "eh." Drinks were alright. It was a nice night and we had good service, nothing to be upset about, but in its tier, there are better places.
i dont know if the food is a "3" but it is very close. A real gem in ATL and would go out of my way to eat here. The staff is tremendous. I ate two nights back to back and they welcome me the second night by name. Interesting wine list served with Riedel glasses. I think reservations are in order most nights
