Great food, service, and atmosphere. Really different.
The fish in rolls and starters from sushi bar was dry and had a sour smell.
The cooked yellow tail was overcooked and we were charged seven dollars
more than on the menu. Person in charge claimed this was cost on new menu, however new menu indicated same price, $18, not $25 dollars restaurant charged us. It was a nightmare experience . Great Neck has
many good Asian restaurants, skip Elaines it is a disaster
A bit expensive for the small portion sizes. The ambiance is very appropriate and chic. The flavors they achieve are delectable, if a bit lacking in originality.
Elaine's is a hidden treasure in Great Neck. The decor and ambiance is elegant. The food is great especially the sushi dishes. Service is slow but good .The owner is extremely friendly always walking by to greet the guests. A little pricey for the neighborhood though
You really have to know what to order here to really appreciate their food. They are very strong in the japanese department. Try their sashimi as well as their Hamachi Kama (yellowtail fish chin) and you will be in for a real treat
