really, really unpleasant. i went there with my wife and kids around 4pm for a few "exotic cocktails" and dim sum...we left in 20 minutes. this place is filthy and smells, the service is horrible, the clientelle looked homeless. Thankfully, we took a friend's recommendation and went to New Jumbo Seafood, which was GREAT.
large dimsum place, definitely good with larger groups. with 2 or 3 people, it's not quite as much fun
Dim sum rules at this cavernous space housed in a former theater. Hard to top the variety and value, from the pork buns to roast duck. Be sure to take your dim sum card to the counter along the back wall for the day's selection of seafood specialties like tiny fried octopus or baby clams.
I've only been here for dimsum. For this authentic hong kong person, this is THE ONLY place for dim sum in Boston Chinatown. All the others are run by non-cantonese (non authentic) dim sum wannabes. This place has carts, freshly made morsels, and great service. Their cha-shiu baos, har-gao, and tofu pudding are top notch. Also, the ex-theater decorations are fabulous to look at. Family owned, too
I used to go to this place all the time for Dim Sum. It has an amazing decor - it was an old theatre and the Dim Sum room is right out of a movie set. Lots of people, noise, yummy smells and great decorations. As time went on however, the quality of the food went downhill and there were sanitary issues. Soapy water in the glasses, and nasty bathrooms - patrons washing their teeth in the sinks!
