In 5 months we've returned 8 times, from the other end of the island. Winter menu included wonderful, earthy duck breast & even better braised lamb. Both with good deep Sicilian wines at rationale prices. Spring menu brought squid ink pasta with sweet bay scallops & pignoli. Signature citrus salad combines the best of Sicilian & Moroccan influences. Excellent staff, the food, service and the wine deserve a finer venue.
Eolo is a relatively new Chelsea restaurant which serves Sicilian food. This is not the usual heavy handed tomato sauce southern Italian food. They serve delicately flavored interesting combinations which are very good. Highly recommended!
Diner there is very tasty and the wines from Sicily are pleasurable. That being said it is not what I would call a "special" place. Also, we went there on an early september night and sat outside. That was a mistake. When the train passes underneath the road, the tables start shaking and you have to stop talking while the little earthquake fills in the air with a deafening roar, not a pleasant experience, and it happens every 9 minutes!
I went to Eolo again last night (4th time). It was amazing as usual. The restaurant was very busy. Melissa, Chef-Owner keeps changing the specials of the night with very interesting dishes. This time I had a half stinging Nettle pasta as an appetizer and the roasted rabbit as my entree. Both were superb. I noticed they used local farm product in many of their dishes which is great for many reasons. I ended up with my favorite dessert "Sfinci" . I
Definitely worth a visit. Some wonderful aspects to the dinner. Incredible salads
