Quintessential French restaurant right down to les mignardises. Decor is tasteful and slightly reminiscent of Versaille's mirrored room. Great view. Food preparation was very correct. The Fois Gras was perfectly prepared and accompanied nicely by the Tokaji recommended by the Sommelier. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her duck and she said the lobster was over the top. Her salmon was just OK. Very enjoyable experience.
We had a lovely meal here. It is definitely modern French style cuisine; I had seared cod fish that was delicious! The wine list is extensive-great selection of Burgundys. The view is lovely and dining room is gorgeous; it is a quiet restaurant, better for a romantic dinner than a power dinner or louder celebration. Service was formal but attentive and quick.
The food is sensational, combining modern French concepts with classic ones (ballotine of pheasant wrapped in spinach was sublime). The wine list is remarkable with depth and breadth, while fairly priced. The room is lovely and the staff are superbly trained and attentive. This is the best French restaurant in Chicago, and probably the entire midwest region!
Food was excellent - and view is wonderful as well.
I had one of the best meals of my life here...it was a special menu for a party I planned and held there...ginger carrot soup and the most delectable ahi tuna with a salsa...the party was extremely successful and my small hosting group was allowed to stay late for a fab bottle of champagne...timeless evening!!
