Thin crust pizza, which I don't prefer. Nothing fancy, always a line to get in. I was a little disapointed. Far from the best pizza I ever tasted.
Yes - it's not as good as the original or the Spot, we get that. But, having since moved up here, happy to have it. That said, a lot of other pizza places in the area touted as somehow exceptional aren't - must've paid someone for review. Pepe's still the best. Up here though, there are a couple of good alternatives, most notably Julio's in Southbury & Lorenzo's in Sandy Hook. Still, only Pepe's has the clam pie - close by. Woohoo!
Danbury isnNot quite as good as aome of the others in this franchise. Not worth the long wait - plenty of alternatives in the area
Frank Pepe Pizzeria in Brookfield takes a back-seat to their original pizzeria in New Haven. They still make a great coal oven pizza, with a crispy, flaky crust and a well-seasoned sauce, but their sucess is also their down fall. Unable to recreate the magic of their original location, customers are left disapointed and pining for the authentic experience. It's still a must eat for pizza lovers in the area, as long as you temper your expectations
