the best Veal I've ever had, and the sommelier was awesome!
The food slipped a bit on our last visit. The crabcake was unusually chewy. The chocolate souffle was lost in the chocolate sauce
In hotel Adolphus, room is beautiful. Reminds me of old time French. Service impeccable. We began with an amuse bouche of peach + dates. For appetizer we had Foie gros that "melted in our mouths" and a crabcake with lobster sauce (their signature appetizer). Pretty presentation. Next was a grapefruit + vermouth sorbet intermezzo, followed by the signature entree-Black Angus beef with oxtail and leek ragout; grand marnier souffle capped the meal.
What a utter delight to celebrate a special occasion in a gorgeous room surrounded by ladies and gentlemen dressed and acting like ladies and gentlemen rather than the slobs that are increasingly taking over even the nicest restaurants. "Jackets required" is strictly enforced and only three guys "forgot" their neckties even though ages ranged from 20s to 70s.
In addition, it was the finest meal I have enjoyed in Dallas.
Without question, one of my most remarkable dining experiences. Service was impeccable and at the same time very entertaining.
Chef Marcos Segovia creative menu is imaginative and creative, only surpassed its preparation.
Definitely the best Dallas has to offer and Dallas has many great restaurants. A dinner I will always remember and repeat often.
