There's a fine selection of oysters and game meats and fowl. Preparations and execution are relatively simple but solid. However, I wish the flavors of the more exotic ingredients were featured in a greater capacity. The large beer and whiskey selection complements the menu well and service was friendly and attentive.
We visited early on a Fri. eve., service was great,(Within an hour the place was hoppin', loud and crowded) This is as much a bar as restaurant, but the food is really good. Goat cheese tart with balsamic was good, my fellow diners found the gazpacho peppery, not me. Llama meatballs were unique, less gamey than goat, I enjoyed them. Duck tacos were good, Gulf shrimp spicier than anticipated. My bro ate the whole goat rueben, must've been good!
you can eat any part of any animal at fronteir. Rustic, lodgy feel. Nice selection of beers and cocktails, but a bit too gamey for my taste.
I would go here much more if it wasn't so crazy loud inside. The food is worth the visit but it usually a painful experience due to the club atmosphere they're trying to go with but I do love the brisket ruben.
Great re-purposing of a beautiful space for a concept rarely seen in Chicago (wild game).
