  • A great value for a Long Island restaurant. Colombian food with other items (such as fajitas). Least-expensive sangria in town. The avocado table sauce is just the right combination of avocados, vinegar, and peppers. The steaks tend to be overdone, but you can't go wrong with the chicken dishes. Have yet to try any of the pork dishes, but I'm looking forward to it.

  • I love getting meals at Gallo! I frequently order the arroz con pollo aka shredded chicken style rice with a side of the empanadas. The chicken and rice is soo tasty and rich, and the empanadas have the perfect amount of spice and crunch. Both are enhanced when you add in their fabulous green sauce. In summer or anytime my meal is not complete without some delicious margaritas on the rocks! Love the staff and the friendly atmosphere. Enjoy!

  • The worst meal I have had in a long time. Started with a "Martguerita" that was just syrup and cheap alcohol without any flavor at all. Worse than a cheap commercial mix. I was suspicious seeing it was completely clear, no hint of citrus or other flavoring.

Shrimp quesadilla was "edible" as was the "chorizo" appetizer which was a cooked sausage dumped on a plate.
Soup of the day was dishwater water with grease and dry chicken, no flavor.

  • We love Gallo Tropical! Not only is the food FANTASTIC, the staff there always welcomes you and they make you feel like family. We love to go there for dinner or just for a drink at the bar (They make great mojitos!). They also just opened up the top level for parties. I highly recommend!

Gallo Tropical is a fun place to visit. It's located in the center of Patchogue. In the warmer months the front of the restaurant opens up to the street. They have an interesting menu, much of which is very reasonably priced. The service is friendly and they enjoy teaching you about the many different foods. My cardiologist might disagree but I like the Tropical Platter which is an assortment of steak, pork, chicken, plantain and fried yucca.
