My favorite South End go to! The ever changing, seasonal menu makes it ideal to have on your repeat offenders list (they change the menu every 4-6 weeks - just enough time to discover a favorite and have once or twice more). Drinks great and atmosphere very very cozy!

Small but interesting menu. Really different starters like bacon chex mix, buffalo chicken livers. Cassoulet was best I ever had. While there is a hamburger for $10, most of the entrees are in mid $20's. Very loud!! Hard to carry on a conversation. Good service, water glass never empty.

4 kinds of poutine, including vegetarian types! Very gastro-pub-y, with a little bit of a rustic twist. Totally works for me.

The Gallows is definitely a boutique restaurant. Not really my style, but it suits some people, that's for sure! Loved the decor and the poutine.
