One of our favorite DDPizza. Decor is typically an American dinner like in Hoper's paintings.
This is not pizza. This is a pie filled with abominable cheese and topped with tomato stuff.
This is simple people! This is THE CLASSIC CHICAGO DEEP DISH PIZZA (apologies to Gino's who lost the crown decades ago, although unfortunately no one told tourists...;-). There is nothing subtle going on here - the flavors are big and bold, and so are the pizza slices. P.S. - leftover slices (and there will be leftovers - these pies are huge), are best enjoyed cold after midnight.
Run-down and poor service - even more so than other locations in the city - but it is a fine Chicago deep-dish pizza.
Would always go to this restaurant when my son lived in Hyde Park. Great food.
