The Nugents have created a destination restaurant at an off the beaten track address offering spectacular small plates, farm to table menus, wonderful enthusiastic service and a welcoming BYOB opportunity. All of this in a beautifully designed jewel box of a space. Everything has been thought through with an eye on detail becoming the former Chef at Les Nomades. BUT, Nugents, PLEASE, a plus 3 hour prix fixe demands chairs that aren't backbreakers
BYOB fine dining at its best - 9 course degustation menu is divine. The wait staff handles a complex range of offerings, small bites, as well as gracefully dealing with any food allergies or concerns. Any urban foodie, worth their salt, should put this on their list.
One strange point - we brought a 15+ year old French Bordeaux wine and were told "we had to reserve a decanter in advance..." That is VERY odd for a fine dining establishment!
Amazing!
Stellar service and an impressive prix fixe meal at Goosefoot left me wanting to go back and try the 12 course menu when they offer it. The eight course menu was outstanding, highlights for me including the chestnut soup, the perfectly cooked angus beef and the quail.
