Half Shell serves very good shellfish at reasonable prices in a dump of a place. Best is to go on a nice day and sit outside to avoid the musty smell in the dingy basement dining room.

I have been going to Half Shell since 1988 and, for this "genre" and at these price points, the surf & turf and crab legs are the best the City has to offer. Have introduced many newbies to Half Shell over the years and none have been disappointed--in fact, many have become regulars!! Go Go Go!!!

Rough, unfriendly service seems to be part of the charm of this poorly illuminated basement locale. Great oysters and crab legs. Always well prepared seafood.
