First and LAST visit to the Havana in Ridgehill, Yonkers. The service was very poor. I was attended by some waiter named Jenny i believe. Not once did she ask how the food was nor the drinks. Yet she came to the table next to us to ask them if they needed anything else and totally ignored our presence. After waiting for so long unattended, had to get up and ask the hostess if they could please give us our tab. I would not recommend this place
Haven't eaten there for maybe a year when the food was excellent. Went back last night [Father's Day] and it was terrible. For appetizers the empanadas which used to have light crispy crusts and fullsome flavorful fillings had thick pie crusts and minimal flat tasting fillings. The entree in my case was Ropa Viejja was inedibly tough and stringy. The Flan had the consistency of supermarket cups of Jello pudding. Manager gave us 50% off the check.
Great Cuban food in a relaxed atmosphere.
You can drink in history at this--the former West End, hangout for Kerouac and co. and a storied music venue for decades. The food is very decent Cuban fare. But don't go if your schedule is tight; the food often arrives on Havana time.
great place to grab dinner with friends after class. atmosphere consists of mostly students.
