I've been going here for years and have NEVER been disappointed (at this location). Yes, portion are large, so get a to-go box and have the rest to enjoy later! The shrimp and grits are not your traditional S&G, but they are the best I've ever had. Jalapeño faccacia bread is spectacular. Everything baked and made in house. I love the food here and I do not say lightly. *Skip the tantalizing goodies behind the glass I'm sadly always dissatisfied.

Highland Bakery is an earthy and quaint place that serves interesting food and VERY large portions. I had the Peanut Butter French Toast and it was very good, although the portion was almost reaching a point of ridiculousness it was so large. Service is ok, not great, not bad. The cases in the front with all of the baked goods are where I really enjoyed looking. All of the desserts look great, and the bread is delicious, and it's all well priced.

Excellent breakfast and weekend brunch, though often overrun by Outside-the-Perimeter tourists. Go early on Sunday; the late wait isn't quite worth it.
