The Frog is a wonderful neighborhood type of seafood restaurant. Not only are a variety of fish available but there are also meat dishes, as might be found in its sister restaurant that is next-door. The waiters are attentive and congenial. The food, from soup to nuts, is well prepared.
The crab cake is the best I've ever had. The frog legs aren't too shabby, either. Save room for desserts: they're humongous!
I do enjoy Hugo's downtown but heard the one in the burbs is so so, management a bit off...Hugo's is a bit expensive but there is an ambiance. The servers are allof and I don't dig on this having been a server myself for many years. Clean up the act and I might be back...will go over to Gibsons for Joe the bartender and Carole the manager any day...they understand guest relations!!
Good for large groups and lovers of fish. Order one desert to split because they are GIANT.
If you can't get into Gibsons -- this is not second best -- it's right up there with it's parent. Excellent steaks and fish items. And of course deserts are tremendous. Sometimes it's better to go a little earlier or much later in the evening - doesn't matter, it's always busy, but you'll have excellent food.
