I just tried to call in and order about 600 dollars worth of food and the lady answering the phone was ridiculous. I've heard of bad customer service but this was a whole new level. She hung up on me twice and told me to "make a decision already". I order food all the time for client meetings and will never deal with them again. Ridiculous.
Good for lunch. Centrally located, so as not to interrupt our stroll of the North End.
Can't beat Il Panino Express for a cheap, satisfying meal. Bypass the overpriced upscale North End resturants and hop into this cafeteria-style restaurant (no table services means not having to pay a tip! but remember, cash only). The lobster ravioli and the gnocchi are to die for, as is the Panino sub, which features proscutto, mozzarella, tomato, basil and olive oil on perfectly crusty bread.
Love the panini here, and everyone I know loves them too.
A great take-out place in the North End, said by someone who lives right around the corner. For about $12, you can get a formaggio calzone and a house salad that feeds 2 people and is a great quick dinner meal. The pasta specials also tend to be great, and decent portions, for less than the $20 you usually spend anywhere else in the North End. One tip though, it's cash only, so don't forget a $20.
