Location is the only negative - tucked away off Howell Mill. Food was excellent - was able to get the fried chicken and it was awesome. Good service, good decor
I've never actually been able to have the fried chicken and I think that's a good thing. Chicken and Dumplings (my birthday dinner growing up as a kid) better than mom would make. Ricotta dumplings were fantastic. The must have to me are the angry mussels. Some of the best you'll have. I really like the atmosphere except it's a little dark. It's on our list of go-to places along with it's heavy hitter neighbors.
Happy to have finally found this place. A group of us did lunch here, and it was a nice surprise all around, from the urban style to the yeoman service. What was most impressive to me was the freshness of the ingredients. The shrimp and avocado salad was so fresh it was as if I had forgotten what an avocado was supposed to taste like. Even the different lettuces popped in my mouth. I'm going back soon.
The food was mediocre and over-priced, small portions. The chicken was dry and tasteless (Where are these great reviews coming from?).The waiter, who was a nice guy, spilled an entire beer down my back and shattered a glass at my feet (I had on sandals). The worst part was the manager or whoever he was compensated us by giving us a round of drinks. Are you kidding me? That's what you thought was appropriate compensation? Try the deviled eggs...
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. Fantastic southern food served with style at a reasonable price. It can get a bit noisy in the main dining area-the bar upstairs provides a more quiet atomosphere.
