The worst experience I have ever had in a "moderate to upscale" steakhouse. Bad service, below average food and a wine list without the vintage listed. They did deduct a main course because my friend complained but I would never set foot in this place again. 3 out of six meals were bad and the salad they served with the $45 lamb chops was like what you would get in a Greek Diner! The waitress was AWOL for most of the meal.
Some of the best steaks on LI. Best Rib eye, tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. Must try the gorganzola bread!Weekends are impossible unless you eat early or late. I bit on the pricer side.
Overrated steakhouse for sure. I'm surprised it is rated so highly. Fried calamari app on the chewy side. My "Special" steak, rib eye over twice cooked potatoes was covered in what tasted like a banquet hall's Salisbury steak sauce. Steak itself was cooked properly and to temp. Overall it was "ok" but certainly not at this price.
NOT GOOD..BAND CANDY//ROCKCANDY..THEY WERE AWFUL! FOOD JUST SO SO..AND THE PRICES WAAAY OVERBOARD!!
The staff is efficient. However, Jimmy buys choice beef or "Black Angus" brand, which is not "USDA Prime". It's well prepared, but real prime beef aficionados miss the deep rich flavor that is only present in beef that is Prime and dry aged. A South Shore resident, who wants to avoid travel to the North Shore, may trade down to choice grade beef and be happy at Jimmy Hays. Gourmands will not.
