They have unique and delicious appetizers; however, their sushi is highly overrated.
This is by far the best and the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Chicago. If you crave for real Japanese sushi, and not the "westernized" Maki rolls, you won't miss it. The only downside is its location, but it won't deter the ernest.
Katsu is easily the best and most authentic sushi place ever! All other sushi restaurants pale in comparison. Forget Americanized sushi. This is the real deal.
Easily best sushi in Chicago. Loved the presentation and service is very friendly. A lot of the omakase dishes are so traditional as to seem exotic to am American such as me. No spicy tuna rolls which is a relief. The owners treated me to a complimentary tasting of some junmai and provided a lot of background on the food and its history. My only complaint is the ginger did not look high quality, everything else was awesome.
Hands down best sushi in town. Oh Katsu you spoil us for any other sushi. Freshest fish and wonderful presentation. I dream about the super premium yellow tail. Great food in a warm room with wonderful hosts.
