Wow -- DC really doesn't know jack from sushi. On good days the fish at Kaz rises above its typical garbage-grade quality and reaches food-court grade. Really sad and pathetic that this place is appreciated.

I have been a fan of Kaz since "that other place". I'm very glad to see this eponymous superstar of a new place. I think the Zagat general food rating of 25 is low. Food freshness, variety, and preparation are always excellent. The saki selection also. I enjoy some of the "Asian only" fishes and dishes that Kaz taught and dared me to try in the 90s. I always suggest "chef's tasting" sushi or sashimi platters. They know...
