Kel's is a Dallas treasure. A small independent family owned restaurant that serves good old fashioned home cooking. The chicken fried steak is hand breaded and, if not the best in Texas, is damned good. Ask the waitress which vegetables are made from scratch and she'll tell you the truth. The star of the show, however, is the fresh, hand dredged fried squash. Just amazing. I get two orders every time I eat here.
