I actually came to Kumari on a whim, escaping a windy day in Baltimore...and I left with no regrets :)
The food was yummy. I had the Nepali Bhojan (~$16, non-veg, although they had a veg option for $3 less) which was described as "a typical Nepalese everyday meal" and came with rice, dal (lentil soup), meat curry (lamb, chicken or goat), spicy relish, and sweet chutney. Oh, and it all came with hot roti (bread) for dipping. Would come again.
EXCELLENT SERVICE AND DELICIOUS FOOD.
Most dishes are $14-20 but the bill easily adds up with extra naan and dessert! The food is delicious, flavorful, and always fresh. But be sure to ask for a pitcher of water up front, as they can get busy. The lunch buffet is always worthwhile because they have a plethora of things to choose from, and they vary so it's not always the same options. And even for the most picky of buffet-goers, their chai tea is by far the best I have ever had.
Excellent food. I am a vegetarian and so is my partner. Each time we visit we order the Aloo Matar and Mixed Veg Curry with Naan or Roti. Delicious! I also enjoy a cup of hot tea with the meal. I have to say that although it is not the most "upscale" place to visit, the food and kind service make this place a sure winner. In one word - savory.
