Not a good experience. The duck which is their signature dish tasted like a salt shaker. We all ordered the duck and all four of us could not believe how salty it was. The desserts tasted dry and gummy.
Owner was very nice and gave us a gift certificate but we won't be back.
I was tricked into going into this restaurant. I had been there years ago and the food was not good, so I swore never to return again. However, there is supposed to be a new French Fusion restaurant, NuvoCoqi which is the name on the door. However, you are led into La Coquille. The Coquille St. Jacques was some kind of generic substance cut to look like scallops with no taste; the sauce didn't help any. The duck seems to have been baked and then quickly browned on the outside. They bring it to you for your approval - why I don't know. It's a half of a "fried" duck, what am I supposed to say? The food was poorly prepared years ago and it hasn't changed. I'll try the new fusion restaurant which is by the bar area and in a room directly in the back. Don't be fooled.
This is one of our favorite restaurants!! You will never be disappointed with anything on the menu. I especially crave the scallops in pink champagne sauce- oh yeah!! And the service is outstanding. They are so attentive, so friendly and charming. Their desserts really stand out, too. We've been dining here for over ten years and have never been able to muster up even one complaint!!
the attitude of the service staff has improved. the food is always good, and it is a very pleasant place for a relaxed meal. it could use a little attention to the sound level, as it is a little too noisy for the ambience
Definitely has deteriorated and caters to local favorites
