if you crave french cooking, your taste buds will love you for visiting this pleasant restaurant.A regular in my youth, I revisited recently after a nearly 30 year hiatus and everything was essentially the same - in this case, a good thing.
I attended a group function. The restaurant must have been quite special 20 years ago. The room was dated, & the staff not at all pleasant. They were not prepared for the number of guests & were not happy to make Food was ok.....nothing spectacular. I would find no reason to return to this restaurant.
Definitely not what I was thinking when I chose a French restaurant. The food wasn't terrible, but not great. My duck was overcooked. It's brightly lit and there is no music playing. Definitely seems to attract the 70+ year old crowd. Went with our family for a special occasion. I would not recommend eating here if you're looking for authentic French fare and if you're younger than 60 yrs old.
Always a memorable occasion at la marmite. The food is always spot on and the service is the best even in NYC
La Marmite offers continental cuisine. It seems to be more of an Italian restaurant than the French title would suggest. The food is good and the portion size is generous. Good dining experience!
