Dreary decor, food below expectation and price too high. Zagat's rating completely misleading and regretted taking it's advice in wasting my money.

This is a very good spot but sometimes crowded, but worth it!

Place has been around for ages, unfortunately so has the decor; I believe it actually dates to the original Italian restaurant (Raneri's?) that opened in the late 70s. Stick with the standards - enchiladas, burritos, tacos - and you will be in good shape. Most of the "entrees" are a bit weak, avoid. Good drinks and service, fun atmosphere. Not a bad local joint.

Get a pitcher of home-made Sangria and a taco/enchilda/rice/bean/whatever combo plate and you are guaranteed a delicious meal at a very reasonable price, usually with a doggie bag of leftovers to take home as well. After dinner head across the street and take in a play at the Smithtown Theatre. (Parking is poor next to the restaurant -- caution is advised when crossing Main Street on foot.)
