I lived in Israel for over a year. I'm a major chumus and falafel snob. I know the difference between schwarma and gyro. Layla's does NOT disappoint! Staples are dependably great, but the authentic, and homey dishes like the bamya, meat pies and za'atar pies made me want to cry the first time I visited. I was brought back to the streets of Jerusalem again. My kids & I licked our plates clean.
