Fabulous! The best French restaurant in New England. The "29" is fully merited.
How amazing- right here in Branford Connecticut a place with better food than the 3 Michelin star rated Daniel and Per Se, and equal to New York's le Bernardin! Ok just kidding. In fairness Le Petit Cafe is quite nice, but seriously Zagat you need to fix your ratings scale in Connecticut....
Food was fantastic! Decor was ok. Service was excellent. Would be a repeat customer if I lived anywhere nearby. Lived up to its scores. I was not disappointed in anything I ordered... which is quite an accomplishment for me! Bravo!
The best! For a perfect evening, relaxed, delicious, satisfying. A cozy and friendly cafe that might as well be in southern France, full of good food and a reinforcing visual and musical atmosphere. Bring good company and have a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Steak au poivre and duck cassoulet (well-trimmed duckmeat!) are my favorites, as is scallops cerviche appetizer, but each dish shows quality and care. Walk around town Green after dinner.
I went to Le Petit Cafe recently, and I was pleased but disappointed. I ordered the duck cassoulet and it was acceptable but not outstanding. It was too dry with not enough broth. The service was excellent, the ambience pleasing, but it is not worth the ratings that it receives. I much prefer the likes of (closed) Cafe Lavandou in New York or La Cote Basque. They are all in the same price range. I would not hurry back.
