Awesome Dinner with Mark Anthony from Sapient Chicago; piglet, duck, double fried pig tail, clams
Logan Square gem - uber-funky vibe with extraordinary bar selection (spirits are fabulous) and beers. Eclectic menu offerings of fresh, Midwest nouvelle foods - boar tacos, sweet-breads and crazy veggie preparations. Reservations now accepted, but be prepared to wait - loud, neighborhood feel. Worth a try - you will come back I guarantee it! Wait staff are pros and service unobtrusive and cocktail list is impressive.
Had one of the best steaks of my life here - a bone out 20oz rib-eye, cooked to perfection, with the restaurant's take on potato salad and green-been casserole. Shared the plate with a friend; was completely wowed. Even better was the bartender - asked him to make me something sweetish, and he came through with a Tequila drink (I don't normally drink Tequila) that was amazing. The place is expensive, though. A three bite Duck Meatloaf = $15?
Good burger and sloppy Joe's, with fries cooked in beef fat! The big grey wall is really ugly. Great list of liquors and beers. Also has rooms upstairs (6), nicely decorated with recycled wood.
Best whiskey cocktails in the city. The bartenders are talented and friendly. Food is consistently excellent and worth the (fairly hefty) wait.
