How on earth can this restaurant recieve 23 for FOOD??? A 15 at best. We had the rotten luck to dine here 2x in past month due to people taking us out and BOTH times the food was horrible. Calamari appetizer was tasteless, like rubber, Pear martini was a COSMO, sent back twice, lobster tails were so OVERCOOKED that you couldn't even chew and obviously, tasteless.Chocolate cake was stale, hard and dry. Service is not much better.NEVER go back!
Overcooked my steak badly. Served lukewarm potatoes. Can't serve food like that and call yourself a steakhouse. Nice staff though if that matters...
One of the best steakhouses on Long Island. Better than the chains and on par with Jimmy Hays (in Island Park), for the best porterhouse around. The food is fantastic, service is top shelf and bar is very nice as well. The new owner is a really friendly guy and you're treated so well there, that you'd want to go back every night...if you had the $. It's a very classy and comfortable place. When I got my last 2 promotions, I celebrated at Mac's.
In a sea of steakhouses this one is forgettable. Steak was good, but not great. Interesting grilled calamari appetizer that wound up relatively bland. Main dining room never got full but the upstairs clearly was having a private party - with DJ whose music did not complement the 80's b-sides that were coming out of the house's main sound system. Waitress was polite but largely unattentive. If you're used to Blackstone's, Luger's, etc - skip it
Brought 4 people for dinner and was embarrassed. The service is slow, they don't have enough help. On a scale of 10 there food rates a 5. The mussels have no flavor! They don't know what ceviche is, and a 3lb lobster was more like a 2lb. We will never go back and that was the 2 nd chance we gave them.
