best thai in atlanta
Ordered the seasonal sushi, interesting idea but too exotic for most die hard sushi fans (replacing rice/seaweed with cucumber? The roll arrived in a puddle of its own cucumber juices. Too slimy, lacked the substance of makimono and the flavor of sashimi despite trying to combine both. Also very expensive.) Beef lettuce wrap appetizer was excellent, well spiced. Masaman curry sauce tasted excellent but came with dry, overcooked chicken. Rice was fluffy, delicious and unlimited with the curry.
Service was quite courteous, and helpful. However empty dishes took a while to get taken up, unless we set them aside on an empty table adjacent.
Beautiful, clean dinner venue. Good date night location. More loud and cozy than quiet and dignified.
I just had one of the worst fine dining experiences of my life at Mali's Restaurant. Their sushi menu was unclear about the sashimi combination. It clearly states on the menu that you get nine pieces of sashimi and a tuna roll with the combo, nowhere does it say "Chef's choice." The other item I ordered was a tiny portion and the calimari was overdone. The manager argued with me for 10 mins over a $4 discrepancy in the bill.
Hidden gem of Thai food.
Great soups, wonderful curries and great sushi, but specially with the soups you might find inconsistent saltiness in preparation. Any of the curries will be the best you have ever had and their sushi is better than most of the fancier places in town where they will charge you twice as much for more rice and less fish.
