  • I had been going to Mara's with my kids for yrs. and their food has been consistently tasty; no qualms there. I have not visited their new location; I imagine that the food has remained consistent. Cannot coment on decor; haven't traveled to LI location. As for service, it has run from great to not-so-great through the years, sometimes walking into family meltdowns at the family run place. Other times have been delightful. Overall, worth a try!!

  • So glad to have Mara's Homemade on the North Shore of Long Island. The food, hospitality, and service are all top shelf. Some of my personal favorite entrees are the short ribs, jambalaya, po boy oyster sandwiches, and BBQ. The side dishes are amazing and include no-mayo, cole slaw, cheese grits, collard greens, sweet potato & marshmallows, just mention a few. The desserts are mouthwatering, two of my favorites are key lime and bluegrass pies.

  • Love the food at Mara's! Been going since it was in NYC and now it's in our backyard! Favs are: BBQ, chicken-fried steak and Crawfish New Orleans. Don't forget the Red Velvet Cake!

  • Mara's has great homemade food. Tried many different dishes and they were all great. If you are looking for true BBQ then Mara's is the place. Best Sweet Tea you will ever get. You want a delectable mind blowing desert experience. Then go no further. Really I can't say enough about this place. Its a must for anyone who considers themself a foodie.

  • Food is delicious! Am lucky to live right around the corner so I can go there and if there is no seats (which is not unusual) I can do take out. Service is really good, Mara is always there. Had the special of smoked duck - it was out of this world, and had plenty of left overs for lunch the next day. Wish the Jambalya was meal sized.
