Huge portions of mediocre food offered at reasonable prices. Has a loyal following for some reason. This landmark which is in a time warp and has not changed thing in 40+ years. I think it was better in its day. Tired & dingy atmosphere. You’ll find all the locals here.
We were 3 for dinner, first time. None of us liked the food and one needed to send
the fillet back because it smelled bad. Don't even think going there.
Sometime between 2008 and 2011, we gave up on this place. The food and 60's decor are all the same, but the wait staff is just crazy, and not in a good way.
2008: Get the steak special advertised on the front of the menu. Fist-sized sirloin, salad and pasta for $14.99. Can't beat it with a stick. Nothing has changed here since 1967, and it's perfect, except that we'll all miss the chance of a sighting of Paul Newman.
Have to say I don't get it. Having eaten here three or four times I appreciate the sense of community and loyalty to this characterful steakhouse but the food just doesn't even get close to cutting the mustard. Salads are shocking as is the pasta and neither redeemed by the mediocre steaks.
down and dirty next to the westport rr station. noisey. with all that, it is still a great place to go.
