Today someone at my table ordered the crabcake burger. The second it arrived everyone mentioned how "foul and fishy" it smelled. The waitress was politely notified, and we requested the dish be replaced. The waitress then said she needed to speak with the lady at the front. When she returned, she informed us we would have to pay FULL PRICE for a new entree. haha, I dine out often, and I can't EVER recall this type of policy.
I went for breakfast at 930 am on a weekday, plenty of room then. Very good and friendly service. Definitely a diner feel to it, but comfortable, might be a tad noisy when full. I went with the fall omlette with squash, sweet potato, and chicken sausage, topped with a cranberry reduction, absolutely outstanding. More imaginative breakfast menu than most places in Chicago, though it is a little pricier also. Still, I would stop in again.
Best kept secret in breakfast. Egg decadence and neighborhood charm. Coffee ain't so bad either. They know how to spice up a mundane breakfast and give it some rich texture.
A former downscale diner with decidedly upscale breakfast and brunch items
Went shortly after opening. Owner/host came to chat after our meal. Everything was delicious, and plenty of enticing specials made it hard to choose. From the staff and menu descriptions of each plate, it was clear that they liked food and put thought into their dishes. More interesting than standard brunch. A good "foodie" meal for a few extra bucks/plate, and we would go back.
