This place is truly charming. They do an amazing job of serving up the southern staples I grew up on - this isn't creative, gourmet cuisine, but classic dishes done extremely well. They also have an enormous selection (20+) of fresh veggie sides (think sweet potato souffle, okra and tomato, black eyed peas, corn pudding, ect.) that are delicious. Highly recommended.
This was my first time in Atlanta, and this place came highly recommended. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Coming from where I m from (Louisiana), this was an insult to soul food and southern cooking. The chicken pot pie looked as though it wasn t even done. The fried chicken had only been dipped in white flour. (NO SEASONING or TASTE whatsoever) The mac-n-cheese had eggs in it. (visible egg yolks. Ugh! WTF??!) The cornbread taste like just CORNMEAL, and
This is the place for great southern traditional fare. Something out of a time warp, but authentic, affordable and good cordial service. Heaping portions. Consistent year after year with comfort food and escape from formula chain restaurants.
My wife, daughter & I went in for lunch. I had not been there in 30 years and it is still the same. The portions are big, fried and tasty. The food is not expensive, the service is great. If you like "southern" cooking this is a great place to go. big party of people, no problem. I like it, I wil go back sooner next time and I would highly recommend to those who want to take a family for dinner. You could spend a lot more and get less in Atlant
My husband likes this place. This is not one of our things in common. Not a health food place, but the price is right for him. And he loves their sweet tea.
