Mas provides a stellar experience. The food is scrumptious and filled with flavor. The service is not only good but joyful. The ambience is warm and the room is lovely. They started us out with an amuse bouche that was small in size but large in flavor. I had the Octopus salad, Arctic Char, Short Ribs and the dessert - which I forget the name of - was one of the best I've had at any restaurant. The entire meal was crafted to near perfection.
Very much enjoyed our visit. One of the best places in the city. Great wine paring.
Went to Mas on a Friday night - honored our reservation right on time and service was great They sold us on a "leave yourself in the hands of the chef" 5 course meal - which would up being selections directly from the menu. The chicken dish, the monkfish and sweetbread dish, etc. were pretty lame - my date didn't really like anything about her meal. The seared tuna and cheesecake were unbelievable. For $250 bucks - go elsewhere.
Had an amazing birthday dinner for my wife. Mas blends the sophistication in food and service of the likes of Daniel with a far more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The food was creative and well done, the wine list solid, and the service truly impeccable. Will definitely be coming back.
Mas Farmhouse fails at making the guest feel welcome upon arrival. The kitchen cranks out awesome fare & the waitstaff is above par. But the host who is supposed to welcome the guest & set the tone for evening, completely fails. How is it possible to have a lovely evening when greeted with indifference & outright hostility by the manager? Mas Farmhouse is a strong candidate for extinction if they don’t soon take a lesson from Danny Meyer.
