Boasts that it is a Sardinia restaurant however there are only 3 authentic Sardinia dishes. The rest is typical southern Italian fare.
Good food, not great. Service was awesome and friendly. Apps/Salad/main course for 5 came to $40/head. Pretty good value for one of those very small dining places in the N. End Experiences.
Fabulous macaroni, one of the very best Italian restaurants in Boston. Service was very good also.
We wandered around the North End in July looking for an interesting menu. Maurizio's stood out from all the other places with its menu of Sardinian specialties. Not only that, but one of the daily specials was a risotto paella with baby octopus - a great dish. All choices were excellent, plus the appetizer of grilled octopus on arugula. I had a wonderful linguine nero with smoked salmon. Service was spotty, but food and wine choices excellent
I went on my birthday over in June, and it still remains the best meal I have ever had. From the appetizers to the entrees to the service, everything was savory and top shelf. And if I had the choice to eat 1 thing before I died it would be Veal alla Piccata.. indescribably the most amazing dish ever. Prices were more than reasonable for a Boston Hannover Street (Italian) restaurant.
Nice tomato sauce, good value in a area that has many options. I will return and try more dishes as what we had there were better than most (not all) in the North End
